Problem: The boot on my 2006 8th gen won't open. The small lever button doesn't seem to activate the mechanism to open the boot. Background: the boot wouldn't open randomly a few days ago. There doesn't seem to be any reason (particularly wet/cold weather etc) why it started. After a bit of investigation I can manually open the boot from the I can only unlock the drivers door and the boot with the key not with the key fob but passenger door doesnt unlock,and when i press the fob to lock it locks the drivers door and the boot.It is driving Key fob is not working checked battery ok, programed it still no central lock ing working. Open manullay and still immobilizer stays on.

This does the warning sound and display and triggers the central locking which won't then lock as the car is saying the boot is open. The boot is fully closed and secure.

b) place the key in the ignition and turn it on i.e. when all the lights light up on the display panel but without turning the ignition/engine on. c) the window is currently open. d) press the knob all the way down (to the second/last level) as if you were opening the window automatically and release.
The boot on a citroen c4 wouldn't open. This is how I got it open. The owner has ordered a latch for the handle that should fix the issue. Thanks for watching.

When I stop and open my Right Front (driver's door)and try to open the boot the boot remains locked. However when the Left Front Passengers door is opened then the boot automatically unlocks.

In photo 3 above, the plastic fitting has cracked off of the trim. The same has happened to mine, but on the other side. In addition, the very ends of the trim are attached to the boot via some white plastic trim clips. These simply push in to a hole in the bootlid. The one on the RHS of our car has cracked, allowing the trim to come loose.
Ive unlocked it from inside using a screwdriver. Tried to lock the car by the central locking, but it wouldn't lock, which makes me think its not a faulty sensor as it 'sensed' the boot was open. I don't know if this is related, but my key fob stopped working around 2 months ago.

Mechanically lock the lock using a tool (which results in the boot light switching off) If disengagement is not possible, close and open the boot electrically. Re-open the boot lock mechanically. Repeat the procedure for disengaging the motorised function of the boot above. This will fool the BSI into thinking the tailgate is closed.
